About ATD

The association was founded by Penny Smith in 1994 under the name of Amateur Tap Dancers, and soon grew to be country-wide. As news of the association spread, many teachers and performers joined and passed on the word. So it was decided to drop the 'Amateur' and in 2005 it was re-launched as Associated Tap Dancers (ATD). A non-profit making organisation, it makes arrangements for members to meet and join in tap dancing events.

Activities include newsletters, one-day workshops (‘Dancers Days Out’) around the country and the annual TapUK Festival.

The association is now run by a management committee as follows:

Penny Smith: TapUK Festival, Newsletters, Website, Finances and overall administration.

Dolores Clark: Membership database and Secretary.

Florence Bishop: Social Media

Regional Representatives: DDOs, Media/Social Networks, Merchandise and general enquiries.
South West - Sam Greenough;  South East - Florence Bishop

Membership of Associated Tap Dancers is £25 per year and members will receive quarterly publications (newsletters detailing all future events and news from the 'tap world', plus a colour magazine with stories and pictures from the festival).Membership year runs 01 June - 31 May.
NOTE TO CURRENT MEMBERS: ALL LEGACY AUTO-RENEWALS VIA PAYPAL ARE NOW CANCELLED.

Members also receive a discount when attending ATD events.
